March Update
24 March 2009 - 22:18

Hrmm... It's been a few days, no? Everything is going pretty smooth here in Brno as of lately. This past weekend I went back to visit Krakow and this time the experience was much, much better. It was a LOT colder, but overall, it was very relaxing and a quite pleasant trip. I especially didn't get blindingly drunk and do anything stupid this time, so that's always a plus.

Now I am just relaxing, taking it easy and planning a trip away from here. I love Brno, but its also nice to get away from time to time. Other than that, life is just as good as ever. I really haven't any complaints. How could I!? Life really is so good. Even though it may bite you in the backside from time to time, you really have to admit that things ain't so bad.

Just take it easy and chill like me and everything will be alright. Of course, that isn't to say, stop worrying about everything all together. I have concerns myself, but I always try to be optimistic and look on the sunny side of things. In the end, everything will work out or you will die trying...

Red Dirt Road
14 March 2009 - 17:08

I feel really compelled right now to do something important with myself. I'm not sure what that may be right now because I also feel a bit trapped by my situation. That is not a problem, because I choose this situation and wouldn't have it any other way. However, as a result, I do have some constraints.

There has been a lot running through my head in the past month and its all for the best because its all for tomorrow. Not literally tomorrow, but like "tomorrow". I'm finally starting to see a future for myself and I am thoroughly enjoying that. Of course, it is not certain, but I'm starting to have real goals and that is something which I haven't had in a long time.

In high school there were two things which I had to accomplish. First and foremost was getting my Eagle. That took a bit of work and effort and was well worth it. The second, was graduating. Nothing was required of me for that one and I am so glad it's over. Since then, the only thing I have been concerned with is getting back to the Czech Republic.

Now, I am here and it is the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. I came here with a few intentions. Mostly, just figuring out what to do with the rest of my life, where to go from here and what to do next. That certainly hasn't been easy for me. Many things have influenced me. My life has been rapidly changing ever since I stepped of of that plane last September. I am not the person I was on that day.

Maybe its not for good nor for worse, it is what is is. However, I strongly feel that it is nothing but good things. I have a hell of a life ahead of me and I want to live it to the fullest. It all starts with today for we cannot change yesterday and tomorrow might not always come. That seems to be a theme for me lately, but it is quite important I think.

Nobody can say what the future might hold for us, but now that I am discovering what I want from life it is all becoming more clear.

Strange Things
04 March 2009 - 13:49

A few strange things have been going on today and yesterday. Let's start with the oddest, the dream I had last night. I was camping with some people and someone decided to try and drown in a river. I went to save them and then they magically saved their self and got out of the water. Shortly after that, someone decided to dump antifreeze into the river. I tried to stop them, but they did it anyway. All the fish came to it and ate it or drank it or whatever and then swam away. Seeing as there were many fish, we all decided to go fishing. Just as we were about to begin, a beaver/platypus attacked me and I stabbed it. It bit me on the arm and then started speaking perfect English to me. I don't remember what it said, but I know it was nothing useful. Then, it left.

What does that mean!?!?!

The second strange thing from yesterday... Well, it isn't so strange, because it happens really easily, but its strange because it happened to me last night. A friend who I haven't seen in a long time was coming to a party here in Vinarska and asked that I come because she had something for me. I said I would go, but that I wouldn't stay for very long because I had to get up today at 7:00. I'm sure you're guessing where this is going by now. Yes, you are correct...

I went exactly at 11:00 hoping she would already be there, but she wasn't, nobody was. I waited 15 minutes or so talking with two other guys who were throwing the party. At this point, everyone came, by the hundreds it seemed. I met her and she gave me a book for studying Czech, which is really cool. She was also with another friend who I hadn't seen in a while either. We tried speaking a little bit of Czech. Well, I tried to speak and they tried to understand. Then, they opened their wine. I said, "No, no, no, no, no!" But apparently, that wasn't an answer. So, I took a small drink of wine and handed the bottle back.

From there, the conversation was good, the music was REALLY good, and the wine wasn't so bad. Me and the second friend ended up killing most of both bottles alone, in a really short amount of time. It was fun because there were a lot of other people there who I knew. Most importantly, I managed to leave kinda' early. I don't know when it was because I didn't look. I simply stumbled into my room and tried to pass out but the room was spinning too much.

The worse part of it all was the class I had this morning at 8:30. I'm sure the class was just fine, but I don't really know because when I tried to get up at 7:00 my head hurt way, way, WAY too much and when I stood it was only worse and made me dizzy. So, I just rolled back over and finally got up around 11:00. I'm just going to have to call a mulligan on this one and hope my teacher doesn't ask where I was. There are only two students in the class, including me. He probably noticed I wasn't there...

The third strange thing was this afternoon in the store, Albert's. This one is not an event, but an object. As I was shopping, I noticed this can which said "Lunch". That greatly peaked my curiosity, so I picked it up. It was some sort of processed meat in a can and called "Lunch". It doesn't look very tasty, but at least I know what it's for!

The final strange thing was after shopping, when I came into my room to discover a Korean girl sitting in the room alone. I was a bit surprised, but whatever. She is my roommate's friend who is visiting for a few days. I'm guessing he has class or something now and she's just chilling here, but I'm not sure. It doesn't matter, it's not big deal.

I forgot about this entirely because I was told two weeks ago or something. The worst part of it was she arrived when I was still passed out in my bed not wearing any pants. That doesn't really bother me, but for her sake, because nobody wants to see that, I was concerned. Luckily my roommate realized there was a good chance I would still be passed out and asked her to stay outside the room for a second. He's the best, no lie.

So, that's what's new here in Brno, a few strange and random events...

Peace Out February and Welcome March!
02 March 2009 - 23:16

February... February... What is to be said about February...

First off, it was nothing like in past years and for that I am very glad. In fact, its certainly the best month this year so far! I can't quite say it's the best because there has been one major issue that won't be going away anytime soon and only time will tell how that all is to play out. Despite that, it ended on quite a high note and for that I am completely in disbelief! That is a record for me, really. Enough of that trash talk though...

March has started off beautifully! It could not be any better. The weather yesterday was AMAZING!!! Too bad it wasn't quite the same today, but I still managed to feel the warmth of my sunshine either way. So, life is good, real good, and nothing else matters. I had expected a rather busy day today, but that didn't happen. I got up at 7:00 and went to class which was shortened by about two hours. That allowed time for a nice nap before lunch at the Menza which was sub par, even for Menza.

Then I did my Czech homework which is MUCH easier than last semester and MUCH more informative. It's amazing how a different teacher can make ALL the difference. I'm actually learning this semester! Who knew?? After that I finished up season three of The Office. Such a waste of time, but I have a bit of spare time on my hands still these days. Finally, I was off to Czech class where I was taught the exact same things as last semester, only this time it was explained to me and it made sense.

After all the "work" today, I came back to my room and had some peppermint tea and did some more work on a poem. I've been writing a long one lately, one that's more of a story. It's turning out better than I would have first thought, but trying to find an end will be difficult. We will see how it turns outs. Either way, I know it will be interesting. Perhaps I will post it here for all to see, but I don't know yet.

Now, it's time for a relaxing peaceful evening with some good company and a dash of music. Peaceful easy feelings ya'll!
